Things appeared to be everclear in Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum’s relationship not long before his major bombshell.
While the Foo Fighters frontman revealed he recently welcomed a daughter outside his 21-year marriage, just a few months prior, he and Jordyn enjoyed a loved up outing at Wimbledon.
During the July 2 tennis match, Dave opted to forego his typical rocker look and, instead, donned a navy suit with a mustard-colored tie. He wore brown glasses and his long brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. Jordyn—who share kids Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10, with Dave—sat alongside the Nirvana alum in the coveted Royal Box and sported a powder blue collared dress with a matching blazer. In addition to chatting with fellow spectators—including Duran Duran rocker Simon Le Bon—the duo shared smiles with each other.
However, two months after the July event, Dave admitted to an affair that resulted in him fathering a baby.
“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage," the rockstar wrote on Instagram Sept. 10. "I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”
Dave and Jordyn first met in 2001 while she was a producer for MTV and the Storyteller author admitted the beginning of their relationship was touch-and-go.
"When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn't ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling,” Dave told Elle in a 2007 interview, but explained he had a change of heart and called her three months later. "She picked up the phone and said, 'Oh, I never thought I'd hear from you again.'"
The pair eventually married in August 2003 and recently celebrated their 21st anniversary. As they move forward following his news, Dave is asking for kindness toward his family.
“I love my wife and my children,” he continued in his statement. “I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
