Four-time NBA All-Star Rajon Rondo has officially hung up his sneakers.
Though he hasn't played in two seasons, the 38-year-old Rondo declared Monday on the "All That Smoke" podcast, "I'm done."
Rondo, a first-round pick out of Kentucky (21st overall) in the 2006 NBA draft, won the first of his two NBA titles with the Boston Celtics in his second season. He was an All-Star every year from 2009-10 to 2012-13, leading the league in assists twice and being named to the All-Defensive first team twice during that span.
After playing nine seasons in Boston, Rondo bounced around the league, playing for eight other teams during his 16-year career. He won his second NBA title in 2020 as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers before finishing up with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2021-22 season.
"I'd rather spend time with my kids," Rondo told podcast hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.
