Allison Holker's children have given her new man their seal of approval.
Weeks after the 36-year-old debuted her new romance with tech CEO Adam Edmunds, she detailed his first time meeting her and late husband Stephen "tWitch" Boss' three kids Weslie, 16, Maddox, 8, and Zaia, 4.
"It was really fun," Holker told People Sept. 26 of the group's outing to Universal Studios. "We just shared a lot of laughter and a lot of memories, and it was actually a really fun way to start out."
She added, "It was really cool. We were having a lot of fun together."
Her oldest daughter, Weslie, also weighed in on her mom's new relationship, saying that "there's never like a dull moment" when Edmunds is around "because they're so fun together."
"There wasn’t like a standout moment," the teen said of first meeting her mom's boyfriend. "I met him. I was like, 'This is a good guy.' I like him, and as long as my mom's happy, obviously, I don't mind what happens."
Holker, who debuted her new romance during New York Fashion Week at the Sept. 7 alice + olivia show, shared that it was actually Weslie who pushed her to get back into dating again following the loss of Boss in December 2022.
"I'm grateful that it opened up my heart, but Weslie was actually a huge part of that for me,” she explained. “Weslie was actually the one that said to me that I should open up my heart to someone. And that helped me a lot to feel like it was okay to be vulnerable and find love again. And so, she was a huge help to me.”
But while she’s ventured back out in the dating world, she’s made it clear to those she dates—including Edmunds—that her kids always come first.
"I want to always protect them, first and foremost, make sure that they feel safe and protected, and they're my number one priority," Holker added. "So, anyone coming into my life needed to understand that. But yeah, Weslie was the one that inspired me to keep going along."
While this next chapter for her family is "new and exciting," Holker admitted that they're still navigating what it looks like and what works best for them as a family.
“We all are trying to find this new way together,” she said. “And so, everyone's very patient and loving and supportive during this time.”
The So You Think You Can Dance alum had previously discussed her hope that people recognize that she's not attempting to replace or erase the special relationship that she shared with Boss, to whom she was married for nine years before his death by suicide.
"I had such a beautiful love with Stephen, and I still have such a beautiful love with him," she told People in an article published Sept. 23. "But the love I learned has only helped me to be even better in my next love. I feel like I'm even more suited now in this next step in my life, this next chapter with this new, beautiful man Adam."
As she put it, "It's only made it louder and more strong for us. It's not that one love outshines the other. It's just one love prepared me for the next."
